Liferay Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic UI Consultant who loves coding great interactive web applications, and enjoys building tools that others can re-use to build their own interactive web apps. This is a position with the freedom to help define the user interface and interactions used in an open source web app that is used in large scale enterprises across the world.
Key
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement web applications in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
Architect and develop reusable front end components that can be leveraged by different web applications
Communicate with product management and other backend and frontend engineers to refine interactions
Maintain the confidence of both customers and colleagues in Liferay products and technologies
Deliver projects quickly, cost-effectively, and with the highest quality
Communicate. Efficiently.
Conduct engaging Liferay trainings for key customers
Fix product defects to ensure successful deployment of client projects
Potential to travel to customer sites to provide face-to-face technical solutions or trainings
Qualifications (must-haves):
Experience with front end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and with developing interactive websites using those technologies
They must understand the AJAX, DOM, events, CSS inheritance and cascade, semantic HTML, and cross-browser development
Ability to write code without the use of a framework
Amaze clients by planning, designing, building, and delivering innovative UI solutions through customizations
Love for cutting-edge technology
Demonstrates expert analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with very strong motivation to identify and resolve customer issues
Flexible, proven ability to work well under pressure, meet aggressive deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Strong escalation handling skills; able to facilitate discussion to peacefully resolve conflict
Detailed-oriented
Works well with distributed team
Ability to be flexible
Must have 2-4 years of professional experience
Desired skills (nice-to-haves):
Familiarity with mobile web development
Familiarity with responsive design
Experience with front end performance tuning
Experience with different front end frameworks (jQuery, YUI, dojo, Prototype, MooTools, Bootstrap, Blueprint, etc)
Experience with Java or Java related technologies (JSPs, taglibs, app servers, etc)
Experience with any server-side technology (PHP, Ruby, Perl)
Salary is based on previous experience.
